Last Day in Shanghai

Mark and I spent a good portion of the morning laying in bed, watching National Geographic and moaning about all the side effects of jet lag, which believe me, are more than just feeling tired! Finally we decided that we should leave our room if we wanted to eat and, lo an behold, we realized that getting up, walking around, and not whining really makes a person feel better. That is our advice to you, free of charge, if you should ever find yourself in a terrible jet lag situation. Here is what NOT to do:

Instead, get out and have some fun:

We went to The Bund where all the big ships come in. While trying to find it, we walked a few miles in the wrong direction first. Here is Mark looking at the map...moments later we realized our mistake. We were just glad to be feeling awake!

We walked back through a major shopping district, just a 'lil crowded...

We were very proud of ourselves when we found The Bund and it was worth it...

This picture has nothing to do with any of that, except that I just love split pants because what in the world is cuter than a baby's butt? Nothing, nothing I tell you.

That was pretty much it for today! We really like Shanghai. It is very easy to find your way around and I was surprised at how many people spoke a little bit of English. Between their little bits of English and my little bits of Mandarin, we did well folks! Tomorrow morning we will be on a train to Nanjing. Oh my goodness, we're coming Luyana!!!!!!
